Website Development

Half a Bubble Out has a four phase process for the development of any website, from a simple online brochure to a more complex e-commerce site.  Sign offs exist at each major phases of the development to ensure expectations are clear and the project is on track. Costs vary depending upon the complexity of the website, and the desire for such items as flash animations, video, content management, image libraries, databases etc.

Phase I - Analysis
The analysis phase is the process of asking all the right questions in order to develop the scope of work for a website.  The scope of work is our roadmap for completing the project and gives us a tool to measure the completion of the project with our client.  This is where we ensure that we understand together how the website fits in the scope of your marketing plan and your expectations of what it is to be used for.  During the analysis phase we work with you to assess the overall purpose of the website (educational, e-commerce, training etc.), the scope of the content, the target market, specific goals for the website (to take orders, bill, collect data etc.), and the functionality of the website.

Phase II - Asset/Content Collection
In order for design to commence we need to assess the amount and type of content that will be part of the website.  Sometimes content exists but needs to be refined to present well on the web.  Other times content needs to be developed and we work with our clients to that end.  In addition to written content, other assets must be provided such as existing logos, product photographs, personnel photographs etc. as determined by the scope.

Phase III - Design
Website design includes the look and feel, the interface design and the website programming.  The look and feel is the graphic design element that ties in your logo, colors and message.  Graphic design allows for the personality and feel of the company to be visually represented.  The interface design involves using industry standards for ease of navigation and usability.  During programming we put a lot of attention into properly designing the code for scalability and expansion so we can create a website that we can build on in the future.

Phase IV - Assembly and Testing
Assembly involves bringing all the pieces together and testing every area of the website in order to ensure it is functioning as planned.  After assembly is complete the initial testing is performed by Half a Bubble Out, then released to the client for beta testing.  Any required fixes are documented in writing by the client and then made.  Once testing is completed, the site is posted.
