Bidwell Park Documentary
This project was a labor of love and a key part of HaBO history! The park turned 100 years old in July of 2005 and in mid 2004 we came across the speech Annie Bidwell gave July 5, 1905 when she donated the park on behalf of herself and John, to the City of Chico. The speech was foundational to who we are in Chico and downright inspirational, and we decided we had to get the story out there. Months of work, hours of interviews and footage, incredible time investment from many, and financial investment from many others, including the City of Chico, and the story was indeed told. We are proud of our park and our community and incredibly blessed to have had the chance to help tell this one small piece of Chico’s story. Did we mention we won an international award and it is still showing on PBS? Well, we shouldn’t brag….
SunGard Public Sector
SunGard Public Sector (formerly known as Bi-Tech Software) has offices spanning across the country with hundreds of employees. Key offices are located in Florida and Pennsylvania as well as here in Chico. Quarterly town hall meetings are critical to maintaining unity and direction of the various offices. SunGard’s method for this is to have the meetings professionally videotaped, wherever they are held, then edited and placed on the website within a week for anyone to access. No, they haven’t invited us to do the Florida sessions yet, but you never know!
Butte Community Bank
We tell our clients often that the story they tell to their employees internally had better match the story they are telling their customers and prospects in their marketing and advertising. Butte Community Bank is committed to making sure their employees know their story well. HaBO worked with the bank to create an orientation video for their employees that tells their history and sets the stage for the employee culture of the bank. Multiple interviews with both leadership and staff allowed us to pull out the great story that Butte Community Bank has in a concise but powerful way. By the time it was finished, we all wanted to work there
Valley Gallery Dedication
(Gateway Science Museum)
Marcia Moore, a well loved and respected physician in our community, approached us with the idea of creating a video to show at the dedication of the Valley Gallery of the new Gateway Science Museum. The Gallery is dedicated to her late husband, Dr. Jim Cornyn, who loved both nature and people in equal measure. She didn’t believe at first that we could tell his story in a meaningful way in five minutes, but she changed her mind once it happened. Thank you Marcia, for letting us be a part of honoring Jim’s memory. It was a project we loved working on with you and for you.
Butte County - First 5
It isn’t often you get the chance to write, produce and star in your own commercials, but First 5 bit off on the idea of having Michael be a spokesperson regarding the harmful effects of secondhand smoke on children. Their willingness to allow a campaign with humor has given HaBO the freedom to be creative and have fun telling this story! We are excited about the message of this campaign and continuing to encourage people to quit smoking, or at least "Take the Challenge and Smoke Outside”….a message from First 5 Butte County, protecting children from secondhand smoke!
Shy Toes
You thought toes couldn’t be expressive? Think again. These toes move from shy, to embarrassed, to downright scared all in the space of 20 seconds….who said toenail fungus had to be boring? This commercial has shown in several cities around the country for doctors utilizing this great technology.
